Selahattin Kaçanoğlu

Selahattin Kaçanoğlu was born in Buldan, Denizli in 1950. He started weaving in his childhood and helped his family business. After graduating from Nazilli Teacher′s School, Kaçanoğlu started working as a teacher. He also continued weaving textiles at the workshop. He then worked as director at the Public Education Center for 16 years. After retiring from the Public Education Center, Kaçanoğlu concentrated on weaving business and developed looms for hand weaving. He has attended many weaving competitions and received awards. In addition, Kaçanoğlu taught textile and design at Pamukkale University Buldan Vocational School.

Kaçanoğlu currently continues weaving at his company “Kaçanoğlu Handwoven Textile Center” and produces various kinds of textiles for his customers in Turkey and abroad. He is authorized as a Turkish Handwoven Textile Artist by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
