Selat Metin

Selat Metin was born in Istanbul in 1978. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics at Istanbul University in 2003 and got his MBA from Marmara University in the same year. In 1999, Metin was introduced to Marbling (Ebru) art and learned it from the worldwide famous Ebru artist, Hikmet Barutcugil. Metin also took Ebru class from the Art of Ebru Department of Yildiz Palace, the TBMM Department of National Palaces Directorate. Currently, he deals with the art of calligraphy. Metin was invited to San Diego in the USA and Ottawa in Canada and demonstrated the art of Ebru in festivals. He has also attended many joint displays and workshops in Turkey. In October 2008, he made the world’s biggest Ebru together with Hikmet Barutcugil in the Frankfurt Book Fair, where they represented Turkey as the honorary guest. As of today, Metin lives in Istanbul and carries on his works as well as training activities at home and abroad.
