Tahsin Kalender

Tahsin Karender was born in Ahlat in 1928. After finishing primary school, he worked as a farmer for a while then began working with stone in 1948. He has learned many details about the art of stone works and continues this work  until today. With cutting and shaping stones, he puts traditional Anatolian motifs, Seljuk motifs, rossetes and endless knot motifs on historical architectures. He also helps with restoration projects.
