Tahsin Kurt

Tahsin Kurt was born in Van in 1965. He started learning calligraphy in 1984. He obtained his professional license in talik script from Prof. Dr. Ali Alparslan. In 1994, Kurt began learning sülüs scripts from Hüseyin Kutlu and obtained his professional license in 2001. Kurt has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. He has received many awards. In 1997, he received an honorable mention in the category of nesih talik and celi talik in an international calligraphy competition, which was held in IRCICA. He won merit award in the category of talik script in calligraphy competitions, which were held by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1999 and 2001. Kurt received first prize (2005) and second prize (2008) in the category of celi talik in the Albaraka Turkish Traditional Calligraphy Competition. Currently, he continues to work at his workshop in Istanbul.
