Adnan Turani

Adnan Turani was born in Istanbul in 1925. He studied at the Painting and Graphic Department of Gazi Institute of Education during 1945 and 1948. He received a government scholarship and went to Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg Academy for his study in 1953-1959. He worked as a tutor at Gazi Institute of Education between 1959 and 1970. Turani completed his doctorate at Hacettepe University in 1973 and started working as a coordinator at the Fine Art Institute of Hacettepe University. He became Associate Professor in 1978. He worked as a tutor at the History of Art Department of Hacettepe University between 1970 and 1986. He was Chair of the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Bilkent University between 1986 and 1987.  He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions.
