Alev Oskay was born in Istanbul in 1970. She graduated from the Ceramic and Glass Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University. Between 1991 and 1992, she worked as an assistant of the administrator in a sculpture workshop and gallery. In 1990-1993, Oskay directed workshops in Istasyon Art House and gave ceramic lessons to diverse age groups. Between 1994 and 1999, she taught at the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Trakya University. She completed her master’s degree in 2001 at the Istanbul Technical University, Social Sciences Institute. Between 2001 and 2004, she taught ceramics to disabled children at the İçgörü Child and Youth Psychology Consultation and Health Center. Since 1999, Oskay has been teaching in the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Kültür University. Since 2004, she has also taught in the ceramics studio, which she had established at the University. In addition, Oskay continues artistic works in her studio in Sultanahmet. Her works can be seen in the Eczacıbaşı collection, and online web addresses such as sanalmuze.org and lebriz.com.
