Ali Raşit Karakılıç was born in Nazili, the district of Adana in 1951. He finished primary, middle and high school in Adana. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Art at Marmara University in 1974. He is a member of Adana Art Council and the Union of Painters and Sculptors Association (Birleşmiş Ressamlar ve Heykeltraşlar Derneği). Karakılıç continues to work at his workshop in Adana.
