Aslı Özdemir

Aslı Özdemir was born in 1984 in Istanbul. She completed both her middle and high school education focusing on Turkish and Classical Music at the Istanbul Technical University Conservatory. She was accepted to study composition at the same university for her degree. In 2007, Özdemir decided to leave the conservatory in her last year to go to London, where she enrolled in a Language school. She also took up oil painting, collage and illustration. In cooperation with her roommates in London, her first exhibition “EV” took place at Mtaar Gallery in 2009. The following year, she was a participant at the Mixed Media Auction House organized by Artium Modern Gallery in addition to exhibiting her work in the “29th Contemporary Artists Exhibition” at Akbank Art Gallery. Özdemir has been a contributing writer to Genç Sanat magazine. Currently, she lives and works in London.
