Aslı Özen

Aslı Özen was born in Trabzon. She finished her primary and high school education in Trabzon. She studied with Adem Genç, Numan Aslan, Hüseyin Bilgin and Fikri Cantürk at Samsun Institute of Education, and graduated from the Department of Art (Graphics) at Eskişehir Anadolu University. Özen started teaching painting in Gaziantep in 1980. After working at various schools, she retired from Gaziantep Anatolian High School. As of today, she has been working as the head of the Art Department in Private Sanko School since its foundation. She is also a committee member of Sanko Art Gallery. She has participated in over 100 group exhibitions and art fairs, and held 19 solo exhibitions in Turkey. Her works can be seen in many collections in Turkey and abroad. Özen is a member of Karadeniz Plastik Sanatlar Derneği (the Association of Plastic Arts in Black Sea). She currently continues paintings at her own workshop in Gaziantep.
