Avni Öztopçu

H. Avni Öztopçu was born in Erzincan in 1962. After graduating from the Atatürk Faculty of Education at Marmara University in 1984, he completed his master′s degree in painting at Mimar Sinan University in 1986. He then completed his doctoral degree, proficiency in art at Mimar Sinan University in 1989. After completing his military service, Öztopçu started working as an art reporter for Son Baskı daily newspaper in 1991. In the same year, he began teaching at Marmara University as an Assistant Professor. Since 1986, Öztopçu has held many solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He currently lives and works in Istanbul.
