Bahadır Baruter was born in Ankara in 1963. After finishing at Istanbul High school for Boys, he studied at the School of Business Administration at Istanbul University. He then graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University. He started his career drawing realistic comics in Pişmiş Kelle magazine in 1990. After drawing in caricature magazines such as Pişmiş Kelle (for three months), Limon (for a year) and Avanak Avni (for 6 months), Baruter created ′Lombak′ with Fatih Solmaz, a funny comic page full of absurdism, which ran in the magazine Leman for 12 years. This new, abstract humor proved very innovative for Turkish comics, and immediately became popular. ′Lombak′ grew out to its monthly magazine, which started in 2001.
In 1996, Baruter published L-manyak magazine with Selçuk Erdem and worked as an editor for five years. In the next year, Baruter founded the Komik Şeyler Publications with Orhan Acar. In 2002, he published Kemik magazine with Bülent Üstün. In 2002, Baruter also published Penguen magazine with Metin Üstündağ, Erdil Yaşaroğlu and Selçuk Erdem. Currently, Baruter continues drawing and editing Lombak, Penguen and Kemik magazines.
