Bülent Özgören was born in Adana in 1955. Since 1957 he has lived in Istanbul. After amateur activities, he studied photography with Edward Ghannam at the Photography Department of the University of Miami in 1975. He had an interest in Ansel Adam’s the Zone System and silver contact print. Özgören′s prints have taken part in over 20 solo and many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. His work has been published in various magazines, newspapers and television programs. Since 1981 Özgören has conducted many workshops about the Zone System at many universities such as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Yıldız University, Cukurova University, Anadolu University, Uludag University and Marmara University and photography associations including IFSAK, AFSAD and AFAD. He continues to teach at many associations and universities and to give private coaching, lead seminars and workshops. His work can be seen in the Collections of Istanbul Modern Art Museum, Istanbul Center of Photography, companies and private collectors. Özgören founded the photography groups FOG and Sali Grubu (Tuesday Group). He currently continues his work in Istanbul.
