Candan Dizdar Terwiel

Candan Dizdar Terwiel was born in Ankara in 1960. She graduated from Hacettepe University, the Higher School of Health Management in 1984, and from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1988. She completed her master’s degree (1991) and efficient art doctorate (1996) at her alma mater. She got another doctorate (1999) in the Faculty of Educational Science at Ankara University. In 2000, Terwiel became an Associate Professor and had 6 solo exhibitions, 3 of which were organized in Holland. She has also participated in many exhibitions and ceramic workshops. Terwiel has attended in many symposiums and conferences on ceramic history and ceramic art in Turkey and abroad. She has won 4 awards such as the Award of Mention presented in PTT 150th Year Exhibition Competition. She is a member of the Plastic Artist Society, the Association of Art Educators, and Exlibris Society. As of today, Terwiel continues to teach at the Ceramic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University.
