Candan Güngör was born in Izmir in 1969. She graduated from the Ceramic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University in 1992. In 1995, she completed her Master’s degree at her alma mater, where she remained to work as a lecturer (1996-1998) and later served as a research assistant (1998-2003). In 2002, she completed her doctoral degree, proficiency in arts at her alma mater. Since 2003, she has worked as an assistant professor at Dokuz Eylül University. She has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions, symposiums in Turkey and abroad. In 2001, she won second prize in the Turgut Pura Foundation 20th Painting and Sculpture exhibition and competition in Izmir. In 2002, she received a special prize in the 7th Altın Yesti competition in Izmir. Her works can be seen at public and private collections in Turkey and foreign countries. Güngör is a member of UNESCO AIAP the board member of Izmir Section, and a committee member of Turkish Ceramic Artists.
