Assistant Professor Cemalettin Sevim was born in Bozüyük in 1957. He finished primary and middle school in Bozüyük. In 1989 he graduated from the Ceramic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Anadolu University. He completed his master’s degree (1991) and his efficient art doctorate (1994) in the Graduate School of Social Science at his the alma mater. As of today, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Ceramic Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Anadolu University. He has had many solo exhibitions, participated in many group exhibitions, written lots of articles on ceramics and also served as a juror. He is a member of International Plastic Art Society and Turkish Ceramic Association.

1990 Mansion prize in the ceramic section of the State Painting and Sculptor competition.
1991 Solo exhibition at the State Fine Arts Gallery, Bursa.
1992 Special prize at the Altın Testi Ceramic Competition, Izmir.
1994 Solo exhibition at the İş Bank Art Gallery, Erenköy/Istanbul.
1997 Special prize at the Tea Pot Competition, which was held by Turkish Ceramic Association, Istanbul.
1998 Solo exhibition at the Palet Art Gallery, Eskişehir.
1998 Special prize at the Altın Testi Ceramic Competition.
1998 Award of Merit in the competition of Vase Design Industry, which was held by the Turkish Ceramic Association.
1998 Solo exhibition at the Desti Art Gallery, Ankara.
2000 Solo exhibition at the Gözde Art Gallery, Ankara.
