Ebru Ceylan was born in Ankara in 1976. She started photography in 1992 at AFSAD. She participated in several group exhibitions and won awards. After graduating from the Department of Film and TV at Marmara University, Ceylan continued her master′s degree in the Department of Film Making at Mimar Sinan University. Her first short film "Kıyıda" (On the edge) was officially selected to the Cannes Competition in 1998. Ceylan also acted as the leading actress in the film “Climates,” which was directed by her husband Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Ebru Ceylan worked as the art director, story writer, and co-script writer in the Nuri Bilge Ceylan′s fifth film “Three Monkeys.” She is the co-scriptwriter of Nuri Bilge Ceylan′s last movie "Once Upon A Time in Anatolia." Ebru Ceylan currently lives and works in Istanbul.
