Elsa Ers Brosh

Elsa Ers Brosh was born in Istanbul in 1982. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in Paris in 2005. She pursued her Master′s degree in the Department of French Language and Civilization at Sorbonne University in 2007. After staying in Istanbul for two years, where she tried her hand in textile design following the traditions of her family, Ers moved to Tel Aviv, where she currently lives and works.  Her work, which compromises of traditional techniques of painting, drawing and printmaking, along with experimental surface treatments that were inspired by her years working as a textile designer and craftsman, evolves around such themes of belonging, home, and cultural identity. In 2015 her solo exhibition "The Sacred + The Profane" will be held at Pg Art Gallery in Istanbul.
