Elvan Tekcan

Elvan Tekcan was born in Trabzon in 1968. She graduated from the Department of Economics at Boğaziçi University in 1991. After working at several international companies from 1991 to 1997, she completed her Master′s degree at the Painting Department of Marmara University. She then taught cultural politics and art direction at several universities. In 2000-2005, Tekcan worked as a director in an advertising company. She also worked as a publication director of "Akademist," a periodical journal of cultural studies. Since 2004 she has worked as a board member of the Istanbul Graphic Arts Museum (IMOGA). Since 2009 Tekcan has pursued her doctoral degree, proficiency in art, at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University. She also continues her work at her own workshop in Istanbul.
