Elvin Karaaslan was born in Izmir. She graduated from the Department of Fine Art Education at Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir in 2005, and completed her master′s degree in Fine Art in 2008. Since 2009, Karaaslan has pursued her Doctoral degree in Fine Art Education at Anadolu University, Eskişehir. She also works as a research assistant in the Department of Fine Art Education at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. The central theme of Karaaslan′s work is the concept of perception, which she explores both in her academic work on Visual Culture and in her unique three-dimensional artworks.
