Ergin Atlıhan

Ergin Atlıhan was born in Edirne in 1935. He spent his childhood in Van, Başkale and Mardin. After completing his university education in Istanbul, he moved to Europe and studied Art History and Literature in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. In 1983, Atlıhan had his first solo exhibition in Frankfurt Rote Factory. It was followed by his second solo exhibition at Gallerio Commercio in Zürih in 1984. His first solo exhibition in Istanbul was held at Urart Art Gallery in 1986. In the next year, he had his second solo exhbition at AKM with 60 tablos. Since then Atlıhan has had more than 40 solo exhibitions and painting performances in Turkey and abroad. He moved to New York in 1987, and in 2001, he established his workshop in Frankfurt, Waldorf. Currently, Atlıhan continues painting in New York, Istanbul, and Frankfurt.
