Esma Civcir was born in Konya in 1957. After graduating from İzmir Buca Education Institute of Dokuz Eylül University in 1978 and from the Painting-Working Department of Gazi University in 1986, she completed her Master′s degree at the Department of Graphic Design of Gazi University in 1986. She then studied as a special doctoral student at the Department of Archaeology in the Faculty of Science and Letters of Akdeniz University in 2000-2003. Civcir currently teaches at the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Akdeniz University.
Assoc. Prof. Civcir has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. She has attended conferences and panels and given many seminars. Assoc. Prof. Civcir has received many awards and her paintings can be seen in various national and international private and public collections.
