Evren Karayel Gökkaya was born in Tekirdağ in 1979. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Trakya University in 2001. She continued her master’s degree and worked as a research assistant at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Onsekiz Mart University between 2001 and 2006. Since 2006, Gökkaya has continued her doctoral degree in the Painting Department of the Social Sciences Institute at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University. Between 2010 and 2011, Gökkaya received an Erasmus Scholarship and studied painting at the University of Urbino Fine Arts Academy. Since 2009, she has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Gökkaya works as a research assistant in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University, and she also contributes to the Chalabi Art Gallery as a professional artist.
