Prof. Fahri Sümer

Prof. Fahri Sümer was born in Bozöyük in 1942. He studied painting at the workshops of famous painters such as Halil Dikmen, Cemal Tollu, and Neşet Günal in the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1965. In 1981, Sümer started teaching at Izmir Buca College for Teachers Education. The following year, he completed his doctoral degree with a proficiency in arts at Dokuz Eylül University, and became an Associate Professor. In 1987, he was appointed to the Department of Fine Arts Education in the Faculty of Buca Education at Dokuz Eylül University. In 1992, he received the title of Professor. Prof. Sümer has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He has received several awards for his paitings. Prof. Sümer currently teaches at the same university.
