Fatih Kızılcan was born in Köyceğiz, the district of Ankara in 1961. He finished primary, middle and high school in Ankara. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University in 1984. He began working as a pediatric surgeon in 1992. In 1996, he became an associate professor and completed his executive MBA program at Middle East Technical University in 2002.
Kızılcan left his academic career to concentrate on his art. Because of his medical training, he had a well knowledge of human body and taught art by himself. His figures are created by erasing or rubbing off dry paints on a MDF (medium density fiberboard) surface. He had his first solo exhibition in Gallery Sera in Ankara in 1997. Since then, he has had solo exhibition every year in various galleries in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. Kızılcan has also exhibited his works at the International Contemporary Art Fair, which has been held annually in Istanbul. Since 2003, he has participated in many art fairs such as Artistanbul, Contemporary Istanbul and Ankart Art Fair. He has also made decoration with wall paintings and relief works with plaster. Currently Kızılcan continues to paint at his own workshop in Ankara.
