Ferhan Atalay was born in Safranbolu in 1962. She studied painting with Özdemir Yemenicioğlu at the Balıkesir State Workshop of Fine Arts for several years. Atalay finished her university studies as a non-traditional student, obtaining her degree while away from campus. She has had solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Turkey. Atalay has received many awards for her paintings. Her works can be seen in many public and private collections such as Izmir State Painting and Sculpture Museum, Şanlıurfa State Painting and Sculpture Museum, Balıkesir Painting Museum, Istanbul Tekel Directorate, Ziraat Bank Collection, and Devrim Erbil Contemporary Arts Museum in Balıkesir. Atalay currently continues painting at her workshop.
