Prof. Filiz Başaran

Prof. Filiz Başaran was born in Edremit-Balıkesir in 1951. She graduated from the Painting Department of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1973. In 1977, she attended the Salzburg Summer Academy. In the same year, she started working as an assistant at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. Başaran had her first solo exhibition in London. Since then she has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey. Başaran has received several awards. Currently, she teaches at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University.
