Gözde Türkkan was born in Ankara in 1984. She finished her studies at Lycee Français Pierre Loti in Istanbul. Between 2002 and 2003, she went to Paris to study physical science at Pierre et Marie Curie University. After graduating from the Department of Photography and Video in the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2008, Türkkan worked as a photography course instructor in the Visual Communications Department of the same university until June of 2009. In 2009, she did editorial work for “Uncharted: User Frames in Media Arts” catalogue. In the same year, she worked as a guest co-editor for EuroArt online magazine’s photography issue. Türkkan continued her education at the University of Arts London, Central Saint Martins, College of Art and Design, where she received her MA degree in 2010. She has participated in many group exhibitions in Istanbul, Köln and London. Currently, Türkkan continues her work in Istanbul.
