Hale Sontaş

Hale Sontaş was born in Istanbul in 1943. After studying art history at Istanbul University, she entered the Painting Department at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1962 and graduated from Bedri Rahmi′s workshop in 1968. In 1967, she attended a painting workshop in Switzerland. Sontaş studied painting in America and Europe, and researching tapestries in Aubusson. She had her first solo exhibition in Istanbul in 1970. Since then, Sontaş has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. She currently paints in Turkey.
