Hasan Erdemir had an interest in painting during his childhood and began to paint seriously in 1969. He moved to Sweden in 1978 and worked at different studios. Since 1991, he has painted at his own studio in Stockholm. Erdemir prefers to use organic colors (oil, tempera and water color) and to follow expressionist, primitive, colorist and lyrical styles. He has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Sweden and Turkey. In 2008, Erdemir received a Varlök Medal from the Swedish Artists Club in Stockholm. In 2010, he participated in the First Mardin International Painting Symposium. He is a member of UPSD (International Plastic Art Organization, Istanbul), Svenska Konstnarsklubben Swedish Artists Club, and BUS (Artists copyrights in Sweden). Currently, Erdemir continues to live and work in Stockholm.
