Hasan Nazım Balaban was born in 1955 at Seçköy, Bursa. He is the son of the painter İbrahim Balaban. Hasan Nazım finished primary school at his village Seçköy and secondary school in Bursa. He completed his high school and university education in Istanbul. After working at various private firms for 15 years, Balaban founded the firm “Machinery and Automation” together with two friends and carried on for six years. In order to allocate more time to painting, he terminated his partnership with the firm in 1997.
Hasan Nazım Balaban has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey. His more than 60 paintings can be seen in public and private collections in Turkey.
He, while maintaining a unique way of expressing himself, follows after his father’s contemporary and social line and transfers his own interpretations on to canvas with the rules of harmony and esthetics being kept in mind. He compiled and edited the book “Balaban Bir Ressam Yunus Emre” with Zafer E. Bilgin. Currently, Balaban continues his work in Istanbul.
