Heyecan Bakır Ural

Heyecan Bakır Ural was born in Istanbul. She studied architecture and graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Art. She then moved to Germany and worked intensively in many ceramic workshops. In addition to it, she worked on batik, relief and silk paintings. She has had several ceramic exhibitions in Germany and Oslo. After she returned to Turkey, Ural had an interest in glass designs in interior architecture and studied art of glass. She also learned the technique of stained glass by her own will. Since 1991, she has continued professional works in her workshop. Since 1993, Ural has worked on fusion and its technique. She has tried to extend the art of glass by adding elements from fusion. After learning the technique “Pate de Verre” from Chantal Royant and Emma Varga in the Glass Furnace, Ural succeeded in adding three dimensions in her works.
