Hikmet Çetinkaya

Hikmet Çetinkaya was born in Konya, Hasanşeyh in 1958. He graduated from the Painting Education Department in the Faculty of Education at Ankara Gazi University in 1982. Since 1976 he has been painting at his workshop in Ankara. For the last 20 years, he has been concentrating on red poppies. Çetinkaya has held over 120 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs in Turkey and abroad. In 2001, he represented Turkey in the International World Art Fair in Stockholm. In addition to his workshop in Ankara, Çetinkaya worked at his second workshop in Paris from 2002 to 2007. He has organized many art activities in Turkey and foreign countries. He presented the TV program "Hikmet Çetinkaya′s workshop" on Halk TV. Çetinkaya has received various international awards. He is a member of the International Association of Art. Çetinkaya currently continues his work in Ankara and Toronto, where he founded his workshop in 2013.
