İlker Yardımcı was born in Ereğli, Konya in 1974. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and Sculpture at Dokuz Eylül University with the sculpture exhibition, which was displayed in the Izmir French Culture Center in 2004. In the same year, he continued his master’s degree on sculpture in the Institute of Fine Arts at his alma mater. Yardımcı made installations and sculptures using metal with a mixed technique. In 2007, he completed his master’s degree with both MA thesis based on “Narration Possibility with the Metal Mediums in Contemporary Sculpture” and his sculpture exhibition in the Italian Culture Center. As of today, Yardımcı continues a doctoral degree at his alma mater. He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. His metal sculpture named “Confusion of Prism” was one of the chosen projects to put into practice on the 29th. Beijing Olympics in 2008. Many of his sculptures can be seen in the special collections of the Izmir Municipality, Söktas Co, HSBC Bank, Erdemir Co., ENKA Schools, and the Beijing Yi Dong Yuan Sculpture Co. Yardımcı is a member of UNESCO A.I.A.P. (L’Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques).
