Ece Akay was born in Ankara in 1978. She graduated from the Department of Sculpture in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University in 2000. After graduating, she lived in England until 2005. She returned to Ankara in 2005, and pursued her master′s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University, which she completed in 2008. Currently, Akay continues her doctoral degree at Hacettepe University. She serves as an instructor at the Department of Visual Arts and Design in the Faculty of Art Design and Architecture of Başkent University. She has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.
