Mehmet Dere was born in Izmir in 1979. He graduated from the Department of Painting in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University. He founded the studio “49A” to ensure the accessibility and possibilities of production and host other people’s project in a playfield. Dere has had several solo exhibitions, and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He is a member of the K2 Contemporary Art Center in Izmir. Currently, Dere continues his work in Izmir and Istanbul.
