Selçuk Artut was born in Istanbul in 1976. He studied mathematics and graduated from Koç University. He continued his master’s degree on Sonic Arts at Middlesex University in London. Between 1999 and 2000, Artut taught mathematics and computer science at Bilgi University. He taught visual arts and communication design as a full time faculty member at Sabanci University between 2000 and 2009. Artut is also a professional musician. His artistic activities are mainly focused on new media practices such as sonic arts and interactivity. His exhibitions and performances include: Aldwych London Transport (London, 2004), Bares do Porto (Portugal, 2006), New Electronic Music (Istanbul, 2006) and Improvhelsinki (Helsinki, 2007). In 2010, Artut had his solo exhibition “A/B” at the American Hospital Art Gallery in Istanbul. He also published his exhibition catalogue “A/B” (Istanbul: Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital Publications, 2010). He has also participated in many conferences and presented in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Artut is pursuing his doctoral degree on Media and Communications in Switzerland.
