Tamer Nakışçı was born in Istanbul in 1982. He studied Industrial Design at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. He started his career at Fiat Advanced Design Concept Lab – Milan in 2004, followed by his first international award in 2005 at the Nokia Benelux Design Awards with his groundbreaking “888” concept. He was selected among “Europe’s 100 young creative talents” by the European Union in 2009; and has been invited to numerous workshops and conferences around the world to share his vision with the others. With his multidimensional approach to design and ability to play with ideas and forms, technologies, emotions and materials in surprising and innovative ways, Nakışçı explores new scenarios, physical and emotional interactions between the human, spaces and objects. His work has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Red Dot and iF Product Design Award, while being featured and exhibited all around the globe. Currently, Nakışçı lives and works at the newly established Studio / Nakisci in Istanbul.
