Yasemin Özcan was born in Istanbul in 1974. She graduated from the Ceramic Department at Mimar Sinan University in 1997. In 2002, she received the Success Award in the 21st Contemporary Artists Exhibition. In 2006, she participated in the “transfer” project, which was held in North Ren Westfalia, Germany. In 2009, Özcan Kaya attended Can Xalant Artist Exchange Program in Mataro. She has given her talk several times on “distilled” at K2 Art Center in Izmir (2006), “transfer” at Ludwig Forum Museum, Aachen (2007), and “best case scenario” at manzara-perpectives, Istanbul (2009). Currently, Özcan Kaya lives and works in Istanbul.
