Irmak Canevi

Irmak Canevi was born in Ankara in 1971. He graduated from Esets Park High School in the State of Colorado, and finished TED at Ankara College. He graduated from School of Law at Istanbul University in 1994 and completed his Master’s degree at New York University Law School in 1996. In 2003, Canevi participated in the Intensive Drawing and Paintings course at Parsons School of Design. He then pursued his art study at the Painting Department of University College London, the Slade School of Fine Art, and completed in 2008; he finished his Master′s degree in Painting at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI in 2015. Since 2007 Canevi has participated in many group exhibitions, workshops, artist residencies and projects in Turkey and abroad. He has his first solo exhibition "KIRILIM / Refraction" as part of Apartment Project. Canevi currently continues his works in Istanbul.
