İsmail Hakkı Demirtaş

İsmail Hakkı Demirtaş was born in Bolu in 1945. He graduated from the Painting-Work Department in the Education Institute at Gazi University in 1967. He then studied painting and graphic arts at Nürnberg Kunst Academy in 1975-1978. After returning to Turkey, Demirtaş taught at the Painting-Work Department in the Atatürk Faculty of Education at Marmara University in 1979-1995. He then taught painting at Süleyman Demirel University in 1996-2003 and Abant İzzet Baysal University in 2006-2010. Demirtaş served as Dean at the Faculty of Education of Abant İzzet Baysal University in 2008-2010. He has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He has received awards for his works. Demirtaş currently lives and continues painting in Bolu.
