İsmail Yıldırım was born in Beyşehir, Konya in 1954. After finishing Istanbul Çapa Teacher’s School, he moved to Paris in 1983. In 1986, he received a fellowship from the French Ministry of Culture, and worked at the studio Arçay with painters such as Waserally, Agem, and Folon for two years. Yıldırım received a signal reward in the “Salon de Minor” painting competition, which was organized in 1995. He won a signal award in a painting competition, which was organized by Izmir Municipality in 1997. He has had many solo exhibitions, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden and Turkey.
