Kamil Masaracı was born in Antakya in 1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Forestry at Istanbul University. He began drawing caricature and published them in many magazines and newspapers. He went to Germany and worked for the magazine company Die Tageszeitung and Der Kassenarzt. Masaracı has had 33 solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad including, Germany, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France, Holland, England, Scotland, Japan and North Cyprus. He created characters such as “Boncuk” and “Keyfibol” for children. Masaracı has received 25 national and international awards including awards from Modern Journalist Association (9 times); “the caricaturist of the year” prize from Turkish Journalist Society (three times), fist prize from Jezz Magazine in Yugoslavia in 1989; and “the winner” prize from the 3rd Yomiuri Caricature Competition in Japan in 1981. masaracı drew caricature “Yürüyen Çizgiyle” for TRT’s cultural program. He also worked as a text writer. In 1996, Masaracı was selected as a director of the Caricature Association. Since 1985, he has drawn in the newspaper, Cumhuriyet. He has two caricature albums. In 2003, ceramic sculptures of his cartoons types were made in the Eczacıbaşı Vitra Ceramic Art Workshop and were exhibited in Istanbul. Masaracı is a member of the Federation of Cartoonists Organizations (FECO) and the International Federation of Journalist (IFJ).
