Mahmut Celayir was born in Bingöl in 1951. He graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Applied Arts in 1976. Until 1984, he worked as a stage designer at several places. In 1986, Celayir moved to Stuttgart. He has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and Germany. He has received prizes for his works. His works can be seen in many important museum and private collections in Germany. Currently, Celayir continues to live and work in Stuttgart.
