Prof. Mehmet Bayhan

Mehmet Bayhan was born in Malatya in 1940. After graduating from the Department of Architecture at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, he pursued his study in Photography at the Academy. Bayhan is the first Professor on Photography in Turkey. He founded the Faculty of Arts and Design at Yıldız Technical University where he served as Dean. He also founded the Photography Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

Prof. Bayhan has participated in numerous national and international photography competitions and exhibitions, and received many awards. He won a title of "Chevalier de l′ordre des palmes academiques." He has given honorary membership by photography associations in Japan, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Austria and Romania. Prof. Bayhan is a member of IFSAK (the Society of Istanbul Amateur Photography and Cinema) and The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). He currently continues teaching photography at various schools, universities, and workshops.
