Metin Güçlü was born in Yozgat in 1958. He started painting when he was a high school student. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Marmara University in 1982. Between 1987 and 1991, he worked and researched theoretical art studies with several artists; and participated in art workshops in many countries including Germany and France. Between 1985 and 2005 Güçlü worked at numerous private companies as a general director, script writer and creative director. In addition, he designed and published numerous educational books. He puts a special emphasis on the contrast of colors in his works. Through this emphasis that he puts on purpose, Güçlü determines and refers to contradictions, struggles, pain and distress, as well as war and exploration. His referrals are meant to be intimidating, provoking and convulsive while amusing and pausing to think. Güçlü has collected some of his works in the series such as “Hunger and Wall,” "Hıdrellez on the Sea Shore," "Three Adams, Three Ways, Adams" and "Conditions of Humanity." Güçlü has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. His works can be seen in various national and international private collections. Güçlü currently continues his work in Istanbul. He is a member of A.I.A.P. UNESCO, Committee of the National Turk International Association of Art.
