Necdet Yılmaz

Necdet was born and raised in Istanbul. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University. He has worked for several multinational advertising agencies such as Grey and J. Walter Thompson as an art director, and has won awards for his advertising campaigns and illustrations in Turkey and abroad. Among his major awards are: London Transport Museum and The Society of Artist Agents Illustration Awards, first prize (2003); International Aydın Doğan Cartoon Competition, first prize (2003);  London Transport Museum and The Society of Artist Agents Illustration Awards, second prize (2003);  International Aydın Doğan Cartoon Competition, second prize (2004); and the Society of Illustrators, New York, gold medal (2005). His work has been exhibited in New York, London, Italy, Brazil, Cyprus, Pakistan, Korea and Turkey. Yılmaz is a member of SCBWI and currently lives in New York.
