Nilgun Güler studied German Philology and graduated from the University of Vienna in 1989. She completed her doctoral degree in Philology under the supervision of Professor Dietrich Kelling in 1991. Dr. Güler taught at the Institute of German Philology of Uludağ University between 1990 and 1997. She lived in various parts of Europe due to her spouse’s profession and attended art history classes at different institutions throughout Europe.
Dr. Güler started her sculpture practices at a sculpture workshop of Boğaziçi University and carried her practices for four years. She attended sculpture classes of Chloe Leaper at London Art Academy in 2010. Dr. Güler also attended sculpture classes provided by sculptor Gilbert Whymann on figurative sculpture at the Heatherly School of Fine Art in 2012. In 2013 she joined workshops ran by Glass Artist Nejat Kavaş in Beykoz, Istanbul. She also took a class of "Creative Sculpture" from sculptor Lynne Abrahamson. Güler has participated in many group exhibitions and held a solo exhibition. She currently continues her work both in Istanbul and Alaçatı.
