Ömer Orhun was born in Istanbul in 1960. He graduated from the Photograph Department of Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. He continued his master’s degree in museology at Yıldız Technical University and completed in 2001. He worked at Güneş and Cumhuriyet Newspaper. Orhun then became a free lance photographer. He has had several solo exhibitions such as “Cuma-Cumartesi”, “Ya Istiklal” and “Gümüş Yıllar” and participated in group exhibitions including “Ölüm=Ölüm” and “Kargaşa”. He has directed short films such as “Sonsuz” and “Son İstasyon”. Orhun also published two books: "Bırak Tember Çıksın Resmimiz" (Istanbul 1995) and "Aşıkmışız" (Istanbul 1996).
