Ali İbrahim Öcal was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany in 1982. In 2003, he graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Süleyman Demirel University. He continued his master’s degree in the Painting Department at Marmara University between 2004 and 2009. He participated in the Borusan Art Center in Istanbul between 2008 and 2010. He has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. In 2009, Öcal participated in some workshops such as the visual art projects in the context of the “Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture”; the “Living and Working in Istanbul” project; and Sarkis’s “Site” exhibition. Öcal won award of merit in the 28th Contemporary Artist Istanbul Exhibition in the Museum of Painting and Sculpture, Istanbul.
