Ayhan Türker was born in Çermik, the district of Diyarbakır in 1938. He finished Yeni primary school and Ziya Gökalp high school in Diyarbakır. He graduated from the Department of Architecture at Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1960. In those times, he learned water and oil painting from Sabri Berkel and Edip Hakkı Köseoğlu. In 1966, Türker founded his own decoration and furniture shop and ran successfully for 33 years. He has also continued to paint without breaking. He had his first solo exhibition in Beyoglu Vakko Art Gallery in 1985. Since then, he has had many solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. He has also participated in lots of group exhibitions in Turkey. His works can be seen in many important banks and companies collections. The text of Türker was published by Prof. Kaya Özsezgin in the book “Bir İstanbul İzlenimcisi Ayhan Türker” in 2000. As of today, Türker continues his work in Istanbul.
